The Enlightenment is an authentic story of spiritual discovery, featuring eight main characters, providing a humorous, compassionate, and thought provoking view into the process of self-discovery. These characters are all in a stage of recovery from substance abuse and take a turn in the spotlight to tell their poignant stories of how they got to their addictions and what has lead them to enter recovery. The musical unfolds through a combination of music, dance, and dialogue.

This all-original musical is about finding strength in your self and some kind of higher power, a story about each character’s struggle with addiction, and the power in their recovery. The path of self-awareness is everyone’s path.
